Managing Your Money: Time To Review Those Subscriptions

Through the worst of the pandemic lockdowns many people turned to entertainment subscriptions in order to ease the pain of... well everything related to the pandemic in general and lockdowns in particular.

With things slowly returning to normal, it's time to take a look at what you're paying for and cancel those subscriptions which are no longer giving value.

Cancelling subscriptions depends on where you signed up. On the iPhone or Android you can follow one of these guides from Apple or Google.

Where you've signed up with the streaming service directly - Disney+, Spotify or Netflix for example - you'll need to login to your account, then cancel the subscription from there.

For subscriptions which weren't purchased online - usually for physical goods like magazines, comics, etc. - call, write or email the provider to cancel. If you've paid upfront for the subscription you may be able to get a refund for goods which haven't been received. Otherwise you should be able to continue receiving the product until the subscription expires.

Subscriptions quickly mount up and if you aren't getting value from them it makes sense to stop that money bleeding out of your account.
