Microsoft's AppComparison Tool For Android Is An Own Goal

What's the biggest argument against adopting Windows on your smartphone? 99.9% of you probably answered 'a lack of apps'. Microsoft doesn't believe that to be the case and has launched AppComparison in the Google Play Store to convince you otherwise.
There's only one problem with this approach, it reinforces the message that the Microsoft App Store is bereft of key applications. Seeing line after line of dubiously named and screencapped images in the alternate application results is going to persuade nobody that Microsoft has the answer to your app problems.
Ten out of ten for honesty, but zero out of ten for business foresight.
To paraphrase an old saying: 'It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought to have a barren app store, than open it and remove all doubt'.
