A complaint that I'm hearing from Windows 10 users is that certain apps don't seem to handle the soft keyboard well on convertible devices like the Microsoft Surface. This means that sometimes when you tap a text entry field nothing happens. Thankfully there's a quick and easy way of ensuring that this doesn't trouble you.
Right click or long press on an empty space in the taskbar and you'll find an option to display a soft keyboard toggle permanently onto the taskbar.
Now wherever you need access to the keyboard you can get it, without being at the mercy of the application you're using.
