Motorola Proximity Sensor Suit Strikes Out

Another dubious patent claim has been wiped away today after the ITC ruled that Motorola's claim against Apple for the infringement of its patent on proximity sensors was without merit. In fact the ITC went as far as to call the 'innovation' obvious, which is likely to be the end of the patent full stop.

There are so many patent battles currently in progress where a similar ruling should be delivered that surely it's time for someone in Government to bring the protanganists together and so some banging of heads together.

We could then look forward to some real innovation taking place, rather than all of the drama in technology taking place in the courtroom.
