Here's Dan Lyons telling it straight. Funny how from the outside Silicon Valley always looked like a place full of people trying to make a fast buck on the back of no idea, no experience and no effort.

There's no doubt that there are people in The Valley that have a clue and are prepared to work hard to make their idea a reality. Unfortunately they are mostly drowned out by chancers, backed with money from other chancers (the angel investors) looking to find some other chancer who will give them all serious amounts of money (venture capitalists) without ever having any prospect of making anything back from it.

Now the VCs are walking away - or at least wanting some semblance of a business plan that promises some possibility of a return on investment before investing.
