Its not very surprising, l think anyone who does a lot of miles on UK motorways has seen evidence of this happening.
What is disappointing is that the drivers in question were allowed to get away with 3 points and a fixed penalty. The prospect of a lorry ploughing into the back of a stationary queue of traffic because the driver isn't paying attention is pretty gruesome.
This was an opportunity to send a message to other offenders by taking these two to court and disqualifying them from driving. The potential loss of livelihood certainly focusses the mind.
Its an opportunity that's been missed unfortunately...
