Apple Bans App For Adding Useful Functions

Well technically they banned it for violating the terms of their contract but nonetheless a popular and profitable app is now no longer available because of an undocumented feature.

The app in question is Camera+ and the function was allowing the volume up key to act as a shutter release. Now the terms of their contract specifically bars this kind of change but frankly I can't see why. It only functions in the application and can only be enabled by following obscure instructions so its unlikely to trip up the average iPhone user.

And lets face it how many times have you found an urgent need to increase the volume whilst framing a picture?

Inexplicable rules policed without common sense? There's an app for that... only on iPhone
